Puerto Rico State Agency Operations Manual
The Puerto Rico State Agency for the Approval of Public Postsecondary Occupational and Technical Education Programs and Institutions Operations Manual is a policy document that serves as a reference guide for individuals and institutions interested in learning about the accreditation and approval procedure being used. It provides accurate information about the accreditation procedure, related activities, evaluation processes, and established rules, among other relevant information related to agency operations.
The Puerto Rico Approval State Agency, as an entity of the Puerto Rico Department of Education and authorized by the Federal Department of Education to approve and authorize public postsecondary occupational and technical education programs and institutions, has the responsibility to remain at the forefront of best practices in evaluation and accreditation. Therefore, as a rule, the Operations Manual is reviewed, updated, and amended, if necessary, every two years. However, it may be reviewed, updated, and amended, prior to this period, as required by legislation (federal or state), regulations and public policies applicable to the Puerto Rico Department of Education.
